Welcome LED lights are the ones that have light emitting diodes as the main source of light. These are the most used lighting these days at Homes, Office, Events, Government Projects, Industries etc. because they are highly energy efficient. You can save from 50% to 85% your electricity bills using these lightings. In terms of price, they are indeed a tad costlier than all forms of lights; however, they are very reliable and last for many years, which overshadow the high price. There is always a debate on whether to use LED lighting or fluorescent lighting. However, the following factors explain as to which is the better of two.

This is the first and foremost factor to be considered while thinking of buying a LED or a fluorescent light. The lifespan of a LED light is around 50,000 hours before a need arises to replace it. On the other hand, the lifespan of a fluorescent light is around 10,000 hours, before there is a need to replace it. This clearly states that the lifespan of around 5 fluorescent lights are equal to one LED light. Is this not proof enough to help you decide which lighting you must opt for?

Energy efficiency

4’ long fluorescent Tube light consumes 52 watts along with choke consumption and gives you 2300 lumen output of which at least 40% of the light from all 360 area and the Top area which is throwing light inside the fixture only part of that is coming down after reflecting from the top. Where as LED Tube Light consumes just 18W and it is a unidirectional light so there is no wastage of light and 100% lighting is coming down. By using LED Tube Light you save at least 65% power and more light then conventional Tube Light. Recent studies have proved that the LED lights are almost 5 times as efficient as the fluorescent light in terms of energy consumption. This can create a huge difference on power consumption. Hence, in order to save power and costs, the LED lights are the most preferred options.

Lighting capacity

It is only natural that lights are choses depending on the purpose for which they are intended to be used for. LED lights are great when to comes to directional lighting. When one needs to focus the light on particular area than covering a wider area, then LED lights are superior. These are evident in flashlights or desk lamps, vehicle headlights etc. On the other hand, if one needs to light up a wider area, then fluorescent lights are better. The full length tube lights are great choices for storehouses, residential buildings etc.

Hence, though in terms of cost LED lights are on the higher side, they perform far better in terms of energy efficiency. Similarly, though their replacement rates are higher than the LED lights, fluorescent lights are great options for lighting up residences.
